As you travel East from San Diego on Interstate 8, into the foothills of Alpine, past the Viejas Indian Reservation, look for the turn off for Julian-Descanso-Japatul (elevation approximately 3100 feet). This is the informal western entrance to the Cleveland National Forest.

Take a right-hand turn on to Japatul Valley Road and head south approximately 3.5 miles. This route borders the massive Horse Thief Canyon Riding & Hiking Preserve, located to the east.

Continue on until you reach Japatul Lane. Turn right and drive approximately 1/2 mile to the end of Japatul Lane. You are now facing west towards the Lake and the entrance to the Ranch will be directly to your left.

The property is approximately 45 minutes from San Diego's International Airport and Downtown San Diego.
